Our Story

QOAT began with a simple belief: beautiful haircolor deserves to last.

Between the two of us, we’ve spent years in the professional beauty industry — working behind the chair, creating content and education for stylists, and building brands within the haircare space. Through all of those experiences, we saw the same challenge again and again. Clients invest in beautiful color, and stylists invest in it too — spending hours perfecting tone, placement, and finish.

But the reality is that most haircolor isn’t designed to last. It’s designed to fade over time. And while that may have once been accepted, today’s clients want something different. They want their color to look vibrant, glossy, and fresh for as long as possible.

Yet the moment a client leaves the salon, everyday elements like water, heat, sun, and pollution begin breaking that color down.

We wanted to create something that gave power back to stylists — a way to help protect the work they spend hours creating and allow clients to enjoy that result for longer.

QOAT wasn’t created from a boardroom brief. It was inspired by real experiences behind the chair and a deep understanding of how color lives in the real world.

The result is QOAT — the first topcoat designed specifically for haircolor. Powered by HydraGlow Shield™ technology, it forms a lightweight hydrophobic layer that helps seal the cuticle and defend color from the everyday stressors that cause fade.
